This Wednesday, the Math Club, Ecology Club and Engineers for a Sustainable World will be hosting an event called Pi Day. It will take place from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Great Lawn.

Pi Day is celebrated on 3/14 around the world because it corresponds to the irrational number Pi 3.1415926, and it is the day that Albert Einstein was born. Students are encouraged to stop by the event for free food and a chance to get to know a few of the clubs at KCC.

KCC’s Pi Day will include free pizza for any students who stop by. Free pie will be available for students who choose to participate in a pie eating contest. There will be a math booth for students to solve problems and win M&Ms, Pi-shoes (the Pi version of horseshoes), and a 3-D printed trophy for the student who can recite the most digits of Pi.
