“I guess … a 6. I mean, it depends on each parent. For my dad, before college, it was like a 9, but now [during college], it’s a 5 or 6. My mom was just always a 2 [laughs].”

“Well, I don’t know, now that [I’m here] they aren’t really that strict, but when they were strict, it was like 7. I lived with my mom actually, so it was just her. I couldn’t be fully honest with her about what I was up to all of the time, you know. She didn’t like me hanging out with boys, that was the main thing. Parties and stuff, she didn’t like that, either. And she had every reason to be strict, though, because I did everything … wrong.”

“Oh, not very. Like a 2. It’s debatable, you know, if I actually was lucky. They never graduated high school, never cared if I did my homework. It boiled down to having to make your own, my own way. People with strict parents might see it as a burden, but it’s … yeah, it’s just how you see it.”

“Extremely strict. I would definitely do a 9, yeah. My dad was definitely more strict. I would go to him if I wanted to do [anything], if I wanted to go out. It depended on whether he was ‘wanting’ to let me go out. Depended on his mood, so typically I’d wait until after dinner [laughs] when he was better.”

“Like an 8, I think. Just my dad, [my mom] was pretty chill. I wasn’t allowed to go to parties or hang out with certain people at school, that kind of thing.”
