“I would probably just go to Japan again, I’ve been there before … I’d want to see some other places in there. Maybe a little bit more towards the rural areas.”

“I think I would go to Cuba, only because they recently opened their doors to the United States. So I want to go now before it’s all ‘Americanized’ … so everything’s still retro … the architecture there and the cars there are all from years ago and not modernized like the rest of the world.”

“If I could have a free round-trip ticket to anywhere in the world, it would probably have to be to Japan. Because of the culture and learning where my family is from there, and getting to see all the cute stationary stuff and food and probably feeding the deer.”

Selena Hao

Age: 21
Hometown: Hanapepe, Kauaʻi
Major: Liberal Arts

“Honestly, I’d probably go home to my family in Kauaʻi because family is such a strong part of my foundation of who I am. So in a heartbeat I would choose to go home. I don’t think I would choose to go to somewhere I don’t really know, I’m not familiar with, just because I barely get to go home.”
